
Gum Seng Aung Du
Myanmar

Gum Seng Aung Du is a Kachin Violinist from Myanmar. His musical journey started at the age of 16. In 2014, he took lessons from Saya Saw Tamalar Wah (MIT). In 2016, he studied with Saya Phoe Pyae, Concert Master at Myanmar Symphony Orchestra. Since 2017, he began studying with Gabriel Lee, Founder-Director of Music Society of Myanmar. In 2018, he won the First Prize, Best Violinist Prize and the Audience Prize at the Philharmonic Society of Myanmar Music Competition. That gave him opportunities to perform in Singapore as First Violinist at the OMM-SOTA Orchestra Camp in 2018 and 2019.
Since 2019, Gum Seng Aung Du has been performing with and assisting the Music Society of Myanmar in its operations and administration. He has performed at the SAM Charity Gala and the 200th Anniversary of Singapore’s Founding organized by the Singapore Embassy. He attended and performed as a violin soloist at “Telling Stories” Performers Present International Artistic Symposium at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
Currently, Gum Seng Aung Du is pursuing Bachelor of Music, in Music Collaboration and Production Majorand studying the violin under Professor Ng Yu-Ying at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
