The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program provides students with the essential skills and hands-on training needed to begin a career in patient care. Through a combination of classroom instruction and supervised clinical experience, students develop core nursing assistant competencies, communication skills, and a strong foundation in patient safety. This program supports students in entering the healthcare workforce and building long-term career pathways. Graduates are prepared to take the Alabama CNA exam and begin working with confidence.
Certified Nursing Assistants play a vital role in delivering hands-on patient care under the supervision of registered and licensed practical nurses in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. They assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, document patient information, maintain safe environments, and support basic medical procedures — providing essential care that improves patient well-being.

Certified Nursing Assistants are in high demand as healthcare systems continue to expand and the need for compassionate, skilled caregivers grows. CNAs are essential members of the healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supporting nurses in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, and other clinical settings.
A CNA certification can open the door to immediate employment while also serving as a strong foundation for future careers in nursing and other health professions. Many students use their CNA experience to build valuable clinical skills before pursuing advanced healthcare degrees, making it an excellent first step toward a rewarding career in patient care.
