This course is an in depth study of human medical physiology. Lab work will examine the underlying chemistry, physics, and biochemistry principles of body function.
The Physician Assistant/Associate Track, part of UWA’s Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Comprehensive program, prepares students for competitive admission to Physician Assistant/Associate graduate programs through a comprehensive foundation in the health sciences. Students complete prerequisite coursework commonly required by PA programs while building knowledge in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and other core sciences. With flexible elective options, students can tailor their studies to meet the admission requirements of their preferred graduate programs, preparing them for the next step toward a career as a Physician Assistant/Associate.

While professional practice requires completion of an accredited graduate Physician Assistant/Associate program and national certification, UWA’s Physician Assistant/Associate Track provides the academic preparation needed to pursue admission to these competitive programs.
