On display at the Julia Tutwiler Library throughout the month of September, the exhibit explores the life, travels and discoveries of one of America鈥檚 most influential early naturalist-artists.

UWA will host a College Colors Day photo set in front of the Young Hall Cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 4. Everyone wearing UWA red and white is invited to participate.

The University of West Alabama conferred honorary doctorates upon Alabama Rep. Artis J. "A.J." McCampbell and Sen. Bobby D. Singleton during summer commencement exercises on August 14. Each received the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, in recognition of distinguished public service, commitment to educational opportunity, and leadership on behalf of the people and communities of Alabama's Black Belt.
