UWA Welcome Center at Kelly Hester Land Hall
The University of West Alabama officially cut the ribbon on Monday, April 20 for its newly renovated Welcome Center, located in Kelly Hester Land Hall.

The University of West Alabama’s Center for Conservation and Agriculture will host an Agriculture and Conservation Celebration on Earth Day, April 22, at ALFA Environmental Hall from 1–5:30 p.m.

The University of West Alabama and the Alumni Association recognized the accomplishments of 12 outstanding alumni at its annual awards ceremony, held Feb. 26 in the Bell Conference Center on UWA’s campus, in conjunction with the Society of the Golden Key Induction Ceremony.
Two distinguished individuals, E. Lyle Cain, Jr., MD, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, and Candice Davis, DPT, PT of Meridian, Mississippi, were inducted into the University of West Alabama’s Society of the Golden Key during a ceremony at the Bell Conference Center, Thursday, Feb. 26.

UWA alumna, Shannon Chandler, has been named vice president for institutional advancement at the University of West Alabama.
The University of West Alabama's 23.4 million redesign and expansion of its Student Union Building is envisioned as a dynamic, student-focused hub.
The University of West Alabama will receive $1.8 million in federal funding to strengthen nursing education and workforce development, thanks to the appropriations leadership of U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.). The funding will support UWA’s Alabama Rural Nursing Enhanced Technology Project, which will provide the Ira D. Pruitt College of Nursing with updated high-fidelity simulation training equipment for nursing students.
California natives Steve and Gayle Campora had never heard of the University of West Alabama or Livingston until their daughter Kayla landed a graduate assistant spot with UWA's women's basketball team a decade ago. Today, their generosity and involvement are woven into the fabric of the University.
